1. Pregelatinized Starch

Pregelatinized starch is a type of starch that has been pre-cooked and dried, allowing it to dissolve easily in cold water without the need for heating. ​

​Applications:​

  • Food Industry: Widely used in instant food products, convenience foods, bakery items, and cakes as a thickener, binder, or texture enhancer.

  • Animal Feed Industry: Used as a feed binder or adhesive, particularly in aquatic feed like eel feed, where the dosage can reach 20%-25%.

  • Other Industries: Acts as a binder in pharmaceutical tablet production, as an adhesive in casting processes, and as a sizing agent in the textile industry.

​2. Dextrin

Dextrin is a partially hydrolyzed starch product with excellent adhesive properties and stability.

Applications:

  • Mainly used in the adhesive industry, including for labeling, packaging, and carton sealing.

  • The adhesive strength and stability rank as: Yellow Dextrin ≥ Glue ≥ White Dextrin.

3. Acid-Modified Starch

Acid-modified starch is obtained by treating starch with acid to partially hydrolyze it, improving its solubility and adhesive properties.

 

Applications:

  • Textile industry as a sizing agent.

  • Paper industry as a binder or adhesive.

  • Confectionery industry for producing soft candies like fudge.

 

​4. Oxidized Starch

Oxidized starch is produced by treating starch with oxidizing agents, improving its film-forming ability and clarity.

Applications:

  • Paper manufacturing as a surface sizing agent for better printability.

  • Textile industry as a sizing agent for yarns and fabrics.

  • Food industry as a thickener, stabilizer, or additive.

5. Cross-linked Starch

Cross-linked starch has enhanced stability against heat, acids, and shear forces due to its molecular structure being modified with cross-linking agents.

Applications:

  • Food industry as a thickener, especially suitable for canned and frozen foods.

  • Medical applications as an anti-sticking agent for surgical gloves.

  • Battery industry as an electrolyte thickener.

  • Raw material for producing compound modified starch by reacting with other chemicals.

6. Hydroxyalkyl Starch

Hydroxyalkyl starch is produced by introducing hydroxyalkyl groups to the starch molecule, enhancing its stability and solubility.

Applications:

  • Mainly used in the textile and paper-making industries.

  • Used in pharmaceutical production, especially in the manufacture of dextran.

7. Cationic Starch

Cationic starch carries positive charges on its molecules, giving it excellent emulsifying and flocculating properties.

Applications:

  • Textile and paper-making industries for improving paper strength and printability.

  • Oil drilling industry as a fluid loss control agent.

  • Industrial wastewater treatment as a flocculant for removing suspended solids.

8. Carboxymethyl Starch (CMS)

Carboxymethyl starch is a water-soluble starch derivative with improved thickening and stabilizing properties.

Applications:

  • Food industry as a thickener, suspending agent, stabilizer, and adhesive.

  • Pharmaceutical industry as a tablet disintegrant or binder.

  • Used in cosmetics, textiles, and paper-making industries.

9. Esterified Starch

Esterified starch is chemically modified by introducing ester groups, resulting in improved functionality for various applications.

Applications:

  • Acetic acid esterified starch is used in textiles, paper-making, and the production of starch-based films.

  • Xanthate esterified starch is used for removing heavy metals and pesticides from wastewater.

  • Phosphoric acid esterified starch is used as an emulsifier, thickener, and stabilizer in the food industry, as well as in textiles and paper-making.

10. Graft Copolymer Starch

Graft copolymer starch is created by grafting synthetic polymers onto starch molecules, providing excellent water absorption properties.

Applications:

  • Mainly used as a super absorbent material in products like disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, paper towels, and toilet paper.

  • Also used in agriculture, forestry, and horticulture as a water-retaining agent for soil improvement.

Description of Investment Components:

  • Machinery:
    The machinery investment includes the essential equipment required for modified starch production, such as starch slurry preparation systems, enzymatic modification reactors, vacuum evaporators, spray dryers, crystallizers, filtration systems, blending units, CIP (Cleaning-In-Place) systems, and all related process lines and automation systems. These machines ensure efficient modification of starch and its subsequent drying, refining, and packaging to meet the specifications of various industries like food, paper, and textiles.

  • Land & Construction:
    The land and construction costs cover industrial-zoned land and all necessary physical infrastructure, including production buildings, administrative offices, raw material and finished product storage areas, laboratory units, social facilities, and landscaping areas. These facilities are designed to support the full operation of the modified starch production plant, ensuring a smooth flow from raw material intake to the final product storage and distribution, while complying with local regulations.

  • Total Investment:
    The total investment estimate includes all essential components such as detailed process engineering, mechanical and electrical installation, infrastructure setup, environmental protection units (e.g., wastewater treatment), product handling systems, licensing, and utility connections (electricity, water, gas). These components are critical for establishing a continuous, large-scale modified starch production facility that operates efficiently and complies with industry standards.

  • Auxiliary Equipment:
    Auxiliary systems such as steam boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, water purification systems (e.g., reverse osmosis), control panels, backup power generators, and utility monitoring systems are not included in the machinery prices listed above. These systems must be quoted separately based on the specific capacity and operational requirements of the facility.

  • Project Design:
    Project planning, feasibility studies, and factory layout design services are provided independently and are not part of the above investment figures. These services can be customized to meet local regulations, raw material availability, and market targets. They ensure that the facility is designed for maximum efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness, tailored to the specific needs of the production process.

  • Technical Service & Consulting:
    Turnkey installation is included within the investment scope. After commissioning, remote monitoring, process optimization, and technical support services will be provided free of charge for a period of 700 days following plant handover. This ensures that the plant operates at peak efficiency, and any technical issues are quickly resolved to maintain continuous operations.
