Product | Jet Cooker Application |
|---|---|
Ethanol (Ethyl Alcohol) | Used for the primary liquefaction of corn, wheat, or rye mash; the slurry is passed through the jet cooker at 221 °F (105 °C) for 5 minutes, then held at 180–190 °F (82–88 °C) for 1–2 hours prior to enzymatic processing. |
Corn Starch | Used in wet milling processes for gelatinization and liquefaction of starch slurry; controlled heating between 160–300 °F (71–149 °C) and high-turbulence mixing to solubilize the starch. |
Wheat Starch | Used for hydrothermal liquefaction of wheat starch; provides homogeneous heating and continuous flow before enzymatic hydrolysis for efficient conversion. |
Citric Acid | Used to continuously sterilize and heat fermentation media; direct steam injection via the jet cooker enables short-duration (flash) high-temperature sterilization. |
Xanthan Gum | Used to heat fermentation media before inoculation and to heat polymer solutions post-fermentation; high-shear, turbulent mixing ensures homogeneous viscosity control and particle dispersion. |
Lysine | Used to heat and sterilize amino acid fermentation media; rapid heating via the jet cooker reduces infection risk and the medium is fed directly into the fermenter. |
Sorbitol | Used to liquefy and gelatinize starch-based glucose syrups prior to hydrogenation; pre-heats the syrup with the jet cooker to produce a low-viscosity feedstock ready for enzymatic hydrolysis. |
Maltodextrin | Used for primary liquefaction of starch syrups in maltodextrin production; controlled heating and continuous mixing yield a homogeneous syrup with low dextrose equivalent (DE). |
Modified Starch | Used as a pre-treatment for starch granule disruption and to increase reactive group accessibility; the jet cooker provides controlled thermal and mechanical action. |
Maltose/Dextrose Syrup | Used for liquefying starch solutions prior to saccharification; the jet-cooked syrup is prepared for enzyme reactions. |
Lactic Acid | Used to heat and sterilize lactic acid fermentation media; the jet cooker supplies a sterilized, heated medium directly to the fermenter. |
